As most of you probably know i have moved to Bend Oregon to attend Central Oregon Community College and pursue a degree in structural fire science. But Bend is also a great place to be a cyclist. Since I have been here I have competed in two races, the Bend Super-D and Crossaflixion Cup #2. Both of these races were extremely fun. In the Super-D it poured rain all day and the course was slippery and muddy adding to the already challenging course. Fortunately I was able to keep the rubber side down and won my age group 19-39. For winning I was awarded a set of 2011 Avid hydraulic disc breaks! Which look very nice on my bike.
The Crossafixion race was my very first cyclocross race. I was told to start out in the B race and then if I do good maybe move up to the A race in a few races. well with 3 laps to go people started yelling things like, “the A race isn’t for an hour,” “you won’t catch the A’s, they don’t start for an hour” and “Up grade.” I was in the lead and had been since the first lap. Needless to say i won this race too.
I’m looking forward to a great cross season! And would like to thank everyone that has supported my racing and made it possible. A special thanks to Jack Vincent for supplying the parts for my cyclocross bike and to Derek Hermon for putting them all together. And to my Parents and Paul Zamoyta for everything els.

Thanks! Ya, it was supper muddy and wet. I flatted in the first lap and was at least 30 seconds off the back. Then with 4 laps to go my saddle broke, making it very hard to get though the mud standing up. But it was still a fun race and i learned a lot for next weekend.
